Design for Manufacture

Design for Manufacture

As part of its full circle of engineering services, AIE offers engineering design. Whether you are a large organisation trying to design more efficient processes or design out a problem, or an entrepreneur with an idea that you want taken down a design path to manufacture, you should talk to the AIE design team.

Design for Improving Existing Equipment or Products

The AIE design team can reverse engineer equipment, processes, or products to create designs focused on a solution to a specific problem. If there are pieces of equipment that are continually creating problems the design team can seek to engineer those problems out of existence.

If equipment is old and parts are hard to find the design team can create new parts or entire pieces of equipment, and even improve original designs and functionality by using more modern materials.

Design of New Products

Customers can come to AIE with a concept. AIE has the inhouse design team to develop that concept to the point where there is a workable product. That may involve bringing in other specialists as required to turn an idea into something tangible and producible. AIE deal with individuals who have an idea as well as larger corporations that already have their product lines in place but need to streamline processes or redesign specific parts.

Design of Plant to Manufacture New Products

AIE can custom design plant and processes for the manufacture of a product. Within the AIE workshop there are vastly experienced engineers who can assess new designs for the most efficient means of manufacture and for practicality in design of manufacturing equipment.

A Design Team within a Larger Engineering Skill-Base

The design team can create 3-D images to demonstrate the volumetric characteristics of a design. The team is focused on fitness-for-purpose and accuracy of design. As the team operates within a larger engineering firm they have been instilled with the need for accuracy and a mindset of ‘check twice, cut once’ to ensure efficient use of materials and time.

Often people developing a new product need to have a design they have conceived put down on paper so that it can be interpreted by specialists in other areas such as marketing and Heath and Safety. One of the advantages the AIE engineering design office has is the designers can tap a range of engineers with a huge amount of experience who can look at designs and make suggestions for improvements.

Intellectual Property Protection

Protection of intellectual property is an aspect that AIE has a lot of experience in. Customers need a level of protection around the confidential designs or elements of process often involved in the work. AIE has robust systems to ensure that your commercially sensitive information remains secure.
